The Team

The New Berlin Hills team is compromised of dedicated professionals who are passionate about their careers. They are continuously growing as individuals and as a team is one of the best in the industry.

 

John Rader, General Manager

John also serves as Troon Golf Director of Operations and oversees operations of Johnson Park, Shoop Park and Washington Park in Racine. John worked at New Berlin Hills from 1995-2014. He really enjoys the relationships built and daily interaction with all our guests. John is married to Julie who works for Masterlock as the VP of HR. He enjoys watching Daughter, Eden (16) play Basketball and Softball and his son Ethan (19) go to school and grow up. 

Lisa Phillips, Food & Beverage Director

Lisa comes from a vast background in customer Food and Beverage service.  Lisa joined the team in 2019 to help continue to lead the front of the house team and now leads dept.  

Wendy Hafemann,  Head Chef & Kitchen Manager

Drake Schilz, Director of Instruction/Head Golf Professional

Drake has been a valuable member of the New Berlin Hills team since 2012. Initially hired as a cart attendant working outside operations, Drake demonstrated interest and value and after two seasons moved into the role of a golf shop assistant. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay prior to becoming a full-time Assistant Golf Professional. He has a vast knowledge of the golf swing and equipment and is continuously growing in his career path. Away from the course, Drake stays active with running, cycling, and hiking and is a loyal Packer, Tar Heel, and Tiger Woods fan.

Chad Kirchen, Head Grounds Superintendent 
Chad coordinates a seasonal team of individuals day to day to produce exceptional playing conditions on a special golf course.  Chad has worked at NBHGC since 2010 working his way through the ranks till taking the helm as Superintendent in 2018.   A local kid, Chad graduated from Brookfield East HS, as well as graduated with 2 degrees from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and an advanced certificate in turfgrass management from Penn State University.  When not working Chad spends time with his amazing family wife Rebecca and two kids William and Nola.  He also enjoys quality time outside in nature with his dog Harley, where he continues his naturalist side hunting and admiring the great wildlife of our great state.  There is nothing better in the world then spring time with the smell of freshly cut grass and the spring flowers in bloom.
 
Dave Heiber, Assistant Grounds Superintendent
Dave is a 12 year veteran at New Berlin Hills spending the last 3 as the Assistant Grounds Superintendent. Dave is an avid golfer & bowler. He loves his Badgers, Brewers, Bucks & Packers.
